Assignment 4 - Sam D'Amico

Page history last edited by Sam D'Amico 10 years, 10 months ago

My MP3 Player design is a wall-mounted visualizer with on-board speakers and MP3 storage.  The idea is to have a purpose-built product explicitly designed for party spaces that works as a stand-in for a DJ and fancy lighting system during smaller gatherings.

Default appearance - Song scrolls along bottom in marquee

Upon clicking the bottom bar, controls show up (LEDs)

Several interface findings -

I had to add a finger icon to indicate to people that you were able to click on the bottom bar.  Once the ubiquitous play/pause/etc buttons were visible, that was not a problem.

The visualizer button is a little unclear.  It may have to be animated to convey the meaning better.

I really like your metaphor, indicating that your device will be a sort of performer for entertainment. Good observation with the finger icon, but I'm wondering how you plan to implement this. Will it be physical buttons? Capacitive sensors under a display?
